Rule 21
Capable of shutting off the power supply
:
(1) In the following cases, the distributor may completely or partially stop power supply from the feeder, transformer or low tension line in an area, village, toll and place in accordance with Section 10 of the Act:-
(a) If customers or consumers steal electricity collectively or individually in any area, village, toll and place,
(b) If it is not possible from a technical point of view to stop the electricity supply only to customers or consumers who steal electricity in the areas, villages, tolls and places as per clause (a),
(c) If the customers or consumers of such areas, villages, tolls and places are being prosecuted in accordance with the Act and these regulations, if a situation is created which may create an obstacle.
(2) In case of stopping the electricity supply according to sub-rule (1), the distributor shall publish a public notice fifteen days in advance so that the concerned village development committee or the residents of the municipal area, toll and place know about the action to be taken.
